CA WSF Sponsors Anza-Borrego Drinker Refill in fall 2021
In extreme drought even the clever collection mechanisms of drinkers are overwhelmed by water demand. We are very thankful for the assistance of the USMC to make an emergency water haul to the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park.
SoCal Summer 2021 was probably the driest recorded in nearly a hundred years.
Anza-Borrego Desert State Park (ABDSP): ABDSP is home to approximately 60% of the federally listed endangered population of desert Bighorn Sheep known as “Peninsular Bighorn Sheep.” Although once considered a separate subspecies (O. c. cremnobates ), bighorn sheep of the Peninsular Ranges have recently been classified the same as desert bighorn sheep in the subspecies O. c. nelsoni.

Helicopter help, thanks to partnerships with military and others.
Helicopter assistance ins invaluable in getting water to remove locations.
Also great to bring in a tanker where road conditions and access permit, and the land-manager is agreeable.
