As sheep enthusiasts, you love to get into the mountains and have high-alpine adventures. New Zealand Tahr offer an affordable opportunity.
New Zealand Government's devastating cull plans that would have seen thousands of Tahr slaughtered and left to rot in the mountains, decimating thousands of jobs, livelihoods and a recreation that is critical to the mental & physical well-being of many, has been curtailed by the actions of many conservation-hunters, amongst others. But the fight is not over.
Hunter conservationists are simply asking for a seat at the table to help manage Tahr based on sound science. Let's put an adaptive management strategy in place that conserves our native vegetation, while also provides for our recreational and commercial hunting interests.
Let's work together and put an end to this ongoing conflict.
