Thank you for your continuing support of CAWSF.
Please stay safe during these turbulent times.

Do you have an idea for a project that will help the wild sheep of California? If so, we’d like to hear about it! Our grant program is specifically for such projects. We currently have two grant programs (see more on the current projects page) and are always looking for more.

Use this form to apply or contact us via email and we’ll be happy to talk with you.

One of the first actions of the CA WSF Board of Directors was to establish a Project Grant Committee to help solicit and select worthwhile activities. This committee has recommended, and the Board has funded, numerous projects since 2001 resulting in an increase in the number of sheep in California herds and raising the number of sheep hunting tags available.

The members of the Project Grant Committee are Vern Bleich (Chair), Don Priest (Co-Chair), Mike Borel, Chip Hollister, Don Martin and Brenton Scott. Our mission is to "Solicit, identify, select, promote, recommend, and monitor funding for projects that will enhance populations of indigenous wild sheep, principally in California." The Board approves the allocation of funds to each project.

If your organization would like to submit a project for funding please download and print the Project Funding Application and submit accordingly to apply for funds. Our ideal funding level is in the range of $1,000 to $5,000 per project. We support a wide variety of projects, including multi-year commitments, in the belief that improved habitat and sheep knowledge will yield increased hunting and viewing opportunities in California.
