2022 Fundraiser News

SEVERAL “ANNIVERSARIES” TO BE CELEBRATED AT 2022 FUNDRAISER
by Mike Borel, Distinguished Life Member, VP Operations

Next year we will be celebrating our 21st anniversary since founding CA WSF to make a difference for wild sheep in California. It will also be 36th year of the “modern era” of California sheep hunting, the 61st Anniversary of the Society for the Conservation of Bighorn Sheep (SCBS), and the 20th anniversary of CA WSF’s annual fundraiser dinner! All this will be celebrated at the next annual fundraiser on Saturday evening, April 30, 2022. Join us as we continue our “Progress toward Increasing DBH Populations and Hunting Opportunities.”

This in-person event will return to the DoubleTree Hotel, 2001 Point W Way, Sacramento. There will be raffles along with both silent and live auctions that will include a wide array of exciting hunts, adventures and other items that you will have the chance to bid on and win. Whether it’s a once-in-a-lifetime hunt, a family trip to fill that empty space in your calendar, or that rifle you have always wanted, you will find it here.
Although not yet formally committed, we expect to once again have desert bighorn auction tags for California and Mexico, along with a special auction tag from Alaska.

Plans are being made to have a “work in progress” auction list up on the chapter website in the near future. Check the website for the upcoming auction list, and then check back for updated information on hunts and other auction items to plan your auction purchases. The list will have outfitter information so you can “do your homework” prior to the event.

The 2022 Anniversary Fundraiser Committee also has plans in the works for more taxidermy displays and exhibits. There will also be plenty of time to share stories and have that face-to-face experience we have all been missing!

Save the date (April 30, 2022), plan to attend and bring friends! Watch the website and e-mails for future information and reservation details.
